چکیده
Abstract Global pollution by plastics derived from petroleum has fostered the development of carbon–neutral, biodegradable bioplastics synthesized renewable resources such as modern biomass, yet knowledge on impact ecosystems is limited. Here we review polylactic acid plastic with focus synthesis, biodegradability tuning, environmental conversion to microplastics, and microbes, algae, phytoplankton, zooplankton, annelids, mollusk fish. Polylactic a low weight semi-crystalline bioplastic used in agriculture, medicine, packaging textile. one most widely biopolymers, accounting for 33% all produced 2021. Although vivo , not completely degradable under natural conditions, notably aquatic conditions. disintegrates into microplastics faster than petroleum-based may pose severe threats exposed biota.

A comparison between the effects of polylactic acid and polystyrene microplastics on Daphnia magna
The effects of microplastics on zooplankton are an increasing environmental concern. Both primary microplastics that are produced as constituents of cosmetic products, as well as secondary microplastics that are formed by degradation of larger plastic debris, are ubiquitous in aquatic environments. Today, primary microplastics are being phased out and replaced by plant-derived bioplastics. Whet...
متن کاملBiodegradability of injection molded bioplastic pots containing polylactic acid and poultry feather fiber.
The biodegradability of three types of bioplastic pots was evaluated by measuring carbon dioxide produced from lab-scale compost reactors containing mixtures of pot fragments and compost inoculum held at 58 °C for 60 days. Biodegradability of pot type A (composed of 100% polylactic acid (PLA)) was very low (13 ± 3%) compared to literature values for other PLA materials. Near infrared spectrosco...

Objective: To investigatethe effects on histocompatibility and biodegradability of bioabsorbablepolylacticacid (PLA) gelin rats. Methods: Longitudinal incision of 30 mm was made along the spine, and subcutaneous tissues were separated bluntly to make four subcutaneous pouches, and PLA gel of different molecular weight (5, 10 and 20 kD) was implanted into the pouches. 4, 7, 11 and 14 weeks after...
متن کاملRole of Polylactic Acid in Bone Regeneration –A Systematic Review
Bone regeneration is a complex, physiological process of bone formation, which can be seen during normal fracture healing, and is involved in continuous remodeling throughout adult life. However, there are complex clinical conditions in which bone regeneration is required in large quantity, such as for skeletal reconstruction of large bone defects created by trauma, infection, tumor resection a...
متن کاملSterilization, toxicity, biocompatibility and clinical applications of polylactic acid/polyglycolic acid copolymers.
This is a review of salient studies of sterilization, toxicity, biocompatibility, clinical applications and current work in the field of orthopaedics, using implants made of polylactic acid (PLA), polyglycolic acid (PGA) and their copolymers. The intrinsic nature of these biomaterials renders them suitable for applications where temporally slow releases of bioactive agents in situ may be requir...
